Were you there? Why not?!! We
only had two day's notice and we gave you just as long!
The Kings Head, Fulham - famous to us and to many in South London for
seeing unsigned bands on the live-circuit in a good, professional
environment and in front of a friendly, open-minded crowd. Well, we got
a last-minute call on Monday and agreed to play two days later.
Let me give you some background... Our next gig was
set to be at the end of July (The Rock Garden). Our set had been
stripped and was being reworked, a few new tracks were being introduced
and basically we were in no condition to play! But being the
brave-hearted souls we are...
The gig was a success - we've been invited back after
the summer.
If you were there, you heard Coming Home, Wide
Tonight, Velvet Breeze, Just Dreams, A Light That Fades, You, Cult,
SinnerSaint, She's Gone. A couple of tracks dropped from the last gig to
make room for You and She's Gone and the restructured Cult. Thanks to
those who made it, it was a great turn-out for such short notice.
Special thanks to Anthony, Darren and Clare for helping to make it a
success.
The next gig (barring any unexpected last-minute
bookings!) is at The Rock Garden on July 29th , and then we'll be in
Cornwall for the mini-tour (see gigs page for more info). We need a
strong show of support if we want to be rebooked and expect you there.
Doctor's Certificates will be accepted - but nothing else!
Other news in this week... The Beckett make the Top 30
Down Under!! That's right, the Australian music site mp3.com rates A
Light That Fades at number 30 based on downloads and listener ratings.
Don't forget that you can download this track as well as Wide Tonight
and Velvet Breeze from www.mp3.com/thebeckett - there will be some live
tracks posted here soon!
Well, it's been a busy month and we've got a gig to
prepare for! See you at the Rock Garden.
The Beckett are David Prestwich, Emlyn Hall, George Georgiou, Mark
Brimson and Mark Wardle. This has been a Sunday Session Production.
